From Steve Brown at the Dallas Morning News, “two North Texas cities have landed at the top of a new list of the country's healthiest housing markets.”

Plano and Arlington were ranked as the two healthiest home markets in a nationwide comparison by SmartAsset. Grand Prairie and Irving also made the top 10. The ranking was based on big-city housing markets that provide the most stability, affordability, fluidity and lowest risk of loss.

"Affordability accounted for 40 percent of the housing health index, while each of the other three factors accounted for 20 percent," SmartAsset analysts said.

DFW has had one of the hottest housing markets in the country in the last few years with record sales and pricing. The median price of a preowned house in North Texas has grown more than 50 percent in the last five years.
